Nuestra opinión: Muy buena M i amigo el dragón sorprende con un estilo clásico y una historia de cuento de hadas, muy simple, con mucha fantasía, pero con el acento puesto en los sentimientos humanos. Mientras la cartelera está llena de superhéroes que intentan salvar al mundo del apocalipsis, acá sólo hay chicos, adultos y un dragón que necesitan cuidar y querer incondicionalmente a otros, es decir, ser parte de una familia. Como la mayoría de las historias de Disney ésta también comienza con un chiquito que pierde a sus padres. Tras un accidente automovilístico, Pete (Oakes Fegley) queda solo en el bosque y es adoptado por un dragón, que además de volar tiene la capacidad de hacerse invisible.

Además, a esto se le une el papel de Victoria Abril, ese papel de la madre que por una parte es una madre moderna, con un trabajo moderno, un trabajo muy importante, es una mujer decidida a salir adelante, por eso decide tener a su hijo sola, pero sin embargo, la sociedad, representada por el papel de la doctora, la deja sola, la abandona y la está forzando siempre a tomar el camino que ella no quiere.
