Comment avez-vous abordé l'évolution de ces personnages? Hélène Giraud: Comme on les avait déjà rencontrés dans le premier film, c'était intéressant de pousser un peu plus loin leur personnalité pour la suite. Ça nous amusait beaucoup. Là, on voit beaucoup plus l'araignée noire et on découvre qu'elle est mélomane et qu'elle a un côté misanthrope. Elle n'aide son prochain que lorsqu'elle le décide et elle le fait avec une certaine distance. À la fin, on sent que le personnage a vécu quelque chose qui l'a beaucoup touché et transformé. Mandibule, qui a toujours l'habitude de diriger ses troupes, se retrouve sous les ordres de l'araignée. Et notre héros, la coccinelle, se retrouve dans le rôle du parent avec tout ce que ça peut avoir comme conséquences. La musique tient également une place beaucoup plus importante dans cette suite.
