A pesar de que sus frases jocosas no sean propias del gusto moderno, su br�o nos conquista; no son personajes del todo c�micos, pues la devoci�n de Beatriz por Hero, y su indignaci�n y la diligencia con que Benedicto se compromete a servirla desafiando a Claudio, les prestan aquella porci�n de seriedad que basta para represent�rnoslos como seres humanos completos. Tambi�n son muy divertidas las escenas, cuyo car�cter es de neta farsa, en que son puestos en rid�culo los oficiales de polic�a; una frase de Dogberry, quien se queja de que el escribano no haya puesto en su informe que uno de los detenidos lo ha llamado asno, se ha hecho proverbial: "iOh, si �l estuviera aqu� para escribir que soy un asno!
