Princess Kiara - Simba and Nala's daughter Mufasa and Sarabi's grandaugther, Kovu's wife, heir to the throne and the main character. Nala - Simba's wife, Kiara's mother and the current Queen of The Pride Lands. Zira - Kovu, Nuka and Vitani's mother, Scar's former mate, the leader of the Outsiders. She wants to avenge the death of Scar against Simba and his pride. Kovu - Zira's son, Nuka and Vitani's younger half brother, Scar's stepson. He was chosen by Scar to become king of the Pridelands. Vitani - Zira's (and Scar's) daughter and second in command, Nuka's younger sister and Kovu's older half sister. She sides with her mother. At the end, Vitani goes against Zira's wishes when she realizes that she is no different than Simba and his pride. She is only seen twice in the movie. Nuka - Zira (and Scar's)son, Vitani's older brother and the older half brother of Kovu who dies in an attempt to murder Simba. Rafiki - Mandrill who encourages Kiara and Kovu to fall in love in Upendi. Timon and Pumbaa - A comical duo who babysit Kiara and unsuccessfully try to teach her the philosophy of Hakuna Matata.

Edit Summaries Simba's daughter is the key to a resolution of a bitter feud between Simba's pride and the outcast pride led by the mate of Scar. Simba and Nala have a daughter, Kiara. Timon and Pumbaa are assigned to be her babysitters, but she easily escapes their care and ventures into the forbidden lands. There she meets a lion cub named Kovu and they become friends. What she and her parents do not know is that Kovu is the son of Zira - a banished follower of the now-dead Scar. She plans to raise Kovu to overthrow Simba and become the king of the Pride Lands. This tests not only Kiara and Kovu's relationship as they mature, but Simba's relationship with his daughter. Simba has a daughter and he's teaching her the ways of a true king. Timon and Pumbaa are sent to watch over Kiara. But when she meets another young lion, she gets into trouble because she isn't allowed to talk to his people. The other lion is from a rejected family of lions. Rejected lions banned from the pride-lands, Scar's people, give Simba and Kiara another wild adventure.
That night, Simba suffers a nightmare where he relives his father's death at the hands of Scar, before Scar morphs into Kovu, sending Simba to his death in turn. The next morning, Simba goes to a watering hole alone, with Kovu close by and ready to pounce. However, Kiara arrives and they go off together. Kiara's hunting skills are still wanting so Kovu offers a demonstration. He pounces over a hill, aiming at some landed birds, but instead comes face to face with Timon and Pumbaa, enjoying a smorgasbord of bugs. However, the birds are hogging the good eats, so Kiara shows Kovu how to roar to chase them off. They all run off in pursuit of the birds, hooting and laughing, which confuses Kovu since he's never had any kind of fun before. Later, Kiara shows Kovu the star-studded night sky and tells him all the great kings of the past are there. Kovu asks if Scar is up there, which leads to an awkward moment where Kovu admits that, while he was not Scar's son, he was still a part of him. The young lions become closer and closer, but Kovu feels conflicted between fulfilling his mission and his growing feelings for Kiara.

The music will all of a sudden take a noticeable super dramatic shift to try to keep things exciting, but it just grates my nerves. I still intend on sharing this film with my kids someday. If that is true, which I know it is, that is a gift that makes it worth everything in some respects, enough to actually put it in the Disney Signature Collection, I'm getting something worth being a member of Amazon Prime @ long last and Disney wound up making it happen! I was very demanding of a service costing this much, and now that I have this available, it sells itself.
