The photos online don't do it justice. When you see it in real life (I was 8 weeks, I've heard at 7 or under the features shouldn't be so apparent) it's so so clear. White translucent skin. Seeing what literally looks like a tiny minuscule human baby, whether it has emotions or can feel pain or not (it can't).. it just didn't sit right with me. And I feel bad for flushing it, instead of burying it. I also saw the yolk sac in tact (a sac with yellow fluid in it, a form of nutrition) and the placenta, as they were connected to the embryo. I feel very deeply sad and upset about it all and have been crying. I feel really alone after parting with it, and I wish I held it longer.
